Whenever our kids start a sports season and we get the paper handouts with schedules and rules I just cringe. I don’t know why the coach does not set up a free website with a free blogging platform like wordpress or blogger so make it easier on him and the parents. With a website it can be updated quickly without having to handout more papers to parents for directions or changes to schedules. I guess it is hard to change the way it “has always been done”.

Twitter is kind of a useless website honestly but it does have some good uses. A coach could send a twitter message out to the whole team if practice is rained out instead of calling 25 parents.

Having a website for your youth sports team or league is a great way to connect the team members and share photos or even videos of the games. Sports sites are the most rewarding to work on for me.
